On Sunday, September 17th, 2017, Jack F participated in Germanfest XXXI, otherwise known as Mercedes Day, at the Larz Anderson Museum put on by the MBCA Minuteman section. The Larz Anderson Auto Museum is home to “America’s Oldest Car Collection”.
Germanfest XXXI is billed as a Larz Anderson Lawn Event. The Lawn Event season grew out of a Sunday afternoon tradition begun by the Anderson family. They would open their doors to the carriage house on Sunday afternoons so that the general public could admire their growing collection of American and European cars. Now, the Museum hosts 24 lawn events a year, each boasting a different marque or genre.
The Mercedes was purchased new by Jack’s mother. The car is in absolutely mint condition. It drives as beautifully as it looks and judging by the award that’s outstanding.
This is an outstanding achievement for Jack as well as a tribute to the quality of cars in the Modifiers Car Club. Jack has a long history as a car aficionado. If you’re interested in seeing a little of Jack’s background in the car culture checkout this story.
Let’s all give a shoutout to Jack and his beautiful 1991 300 SE Mercedes.
